Welcome to Class 10!
A message from Mrs Robinson & Mrs Ashton
It has been lovely teaching your children during the first half term in school and we’re sure we’re going to have a fantastic year.
This half term will be a very exciting one as we are starting a new topic all about Magic in our English lessons. Reminder: if you haven’t sent in the £3.20 towards the Magic Workshop, which will take place on 12th November, please do so.
This half term our class target is to learn all our times tables – children will have a different times table challenge to complete each day. Help your child at home by helping to learn all of these facts.
PE is on a Friday and Swimming is on a Wednesday.
Spelling: Children will be set spellings on a Tuesday to be tested the following Tuesday.
English and Maths: Homework will be set on a Thursday and is due in on the following Wednesday. Please help your child to hand their homework in on time as children with late homework will lose golden time.
Reading: Children in year 6 should be reading regularly at home and discussing the events and the language in their book with an adult in order to improve their comprehension and to get them ready for their SATs..
Reading books must be brought into school every Thursday for checking. Please listen to your child read at home and make comments in their reading record at least once a week, so that they don’t miss Golden Time.
For more detailed information on what we will be doing this half term please take a look at our class newsletter.
