Welcome to Class 6!
A Message from Mr Wilson:
Welcome back to school. I hope you all had a lovely half-term holiday. Thank you for all your hard work with the rainforest project homework. The children all received 5 smiles for their efforts and we have lots of brilliant work up in class.
We have an exciting term ahead and have a new topic all about the Stone Age. We will also be solving a mystery that has appeared in our classroom over the holidays! This term, we will also be busy rehearsing our Christmas concert.
Can we please remind you to ensure that all items of clothing are labelled with your child’s name, as well as lunch boxes and PE kits?
PE is Mondays
This half term children will have one piece of homework per week. It will alternate between English and Maths. Homework is set on Fridays, to be returned the following Wednesday.
Spellings are set on Tuesdays and will be tested the following Tuesday.
Your child will read with an adult in school once a week. Please remind your child to bring their reading book into school every day. After sharing reading books at home, please sign reading records regularly.
When children have read their book and had their reading record signed at home, they can change their book at school.
For good behaviour and hard work the children will continue to receive smilies. For the last 20 minutes every Friday afternoon Class 6 has 'Golden Time' to celebrate their achievements from the week. Also at the end of every day we will choose 'Star of the Day'. In addition to this we will work as a team to earn 'stars in a jar' for class treats for working well together.
For more detailed information on what we will be doing this half term please take a look at our class newsletter.
