Welcome to Class 6!
A Message from Mrs Capel and Mr Catherall:
Welcome back! We hope that you have all had a great half term holiday. Last term we had a fantastic time learning about Ancient Egypt, when the children enjoyed sampling food, making Egyptian jewellery and creating various pieces on Egyptian artwork out of clay.
There are a lot of exciting events ahead this half term, such as: Reading Week, rehearsals for our Christmas Carol service and making a Christmas decoration that lights up in Design Technology!
Mondays - outdoor P.E kit needed for outdoor P.E.
Thursday - outdoor P.E kit needed for basketball.
An outdoor kit consists of: t shirt, shorts/ jogging bottoms and pumps/ trainers.
Homework this half term will alternate between English and Maths, so that parents can be aware of the current learning in these areas. Spellings are set on Mondays and will be tested the following Monday. Your child will read with an adult in school once a week. Please remember to have reading books in school every day.
For good behaviour and hard work the children will continue to receive smilies. For the last 20 minutes every Friday afternoon Class 6 has 'Golden Time' to celebrate their achievements from the week. Also at the end of every day we will choose 'Star of the Day'. In addition to this we will work as a team to earn 'stars in a jar' for class treats for working well together.
For more detailed information on what we will be doing this half term please take a look at our class newsletter.
