Class 1 is our reception class here at St Paul's.
The teacher in Class 1 is Mrs Owen and the Teaching assistant is Mrs Edwards.
In September our doors open at 8.55am and the school day ends at 3.15pm.
Our classroom and outdoor area is organised into different areas of continuous provision and children are free to explore all areas to support their learning.
We provide learning challenges and stimulating activities in each area to engage children's imaginations, follow their interests, and support their independent learning towards meeting the Early Learning Goals at the end of reception.
Adults will play alongside children in all areas of the classroom and outdoor area to observe and promote their learning, offering challenge, praise and support.
Children will also take part in small group work led by an adult.
Assessments are made regularly throughout the year as we track children's progress through the EYFS curriculum.
Click on the icons below for further information on The EYFS curriculum, Phonics, Our Weekly Newletter, Home Learning, The EYFS Brilliant Book List and our photo gallery.
In the event of class self-isolation, bubble closures or lockdown, children will be set learning tasks to complete at home.

Individual children who are self-isolating, due to test and trace and are not in school when the rest of their class is, will be emailed a weekly activity grid that reflects the learning taking place in class that week.

Useful class info and Reminders
Children will need to bring their own water bottle to school, clearly labelled with their name.
All clothing needs to have names clearly visible and it is always a good idea to make children aware of what their name label looks like, so they can easily identify their own belongings.
Please do not send snacks (other than fruit) into school, fruit is provided for snack times.
Please do not send any hand sanitser, lipbalms, toys or trinkets into school. We are aiming to keep items brought from home to a minimum.
If your child is bringing their own lunch, lunch boxes need to be removed from any other bag and placed in the classroom.
If your child is on school dinners please ensure they are preordered via the Dolce website. This is due to all food being made to order on the day, it is essential for the kitchen staff to know exactly what to prepare.
PE kits can be brought into school this term, it is always useful to have some spare clothes (just in case), although PE is on hold for Class 1 until after half term.
We will notify you when we need your child to bring their wellies - we often go on welly walks in our school grounds and it can get a bit muddy!
