Class 9 2019 - 2020
Message from Mrs Regan,
Welcome to Class 9. This is a very important year for our year 6 as it is the last year you will be at St. Paul’s School. In year 5 and 6 there are many exciting opportunities and tough challenges to face, but I’m sure everyone will work hard this year.
In class 9 we are reading:
Our Story Time Book: Fireweed by Lucy Mangan
Our English Hook: The Lion and the Unicorn by Shirley Hughes
Swimming kit will be needed on a Wednesday for Year 5. (One piece swimming costume for girls, or swimming shorts above the knee for boys). If your child requires goggles, you will need to provide a note confirming this for the swimming teachers
Indoor kit will be needed by all children on Monday for dance (School Yellow PE top, black shorts and pumps) Football tops will not be allowed.
Please note PE kit can be left in school for the half term. It is important that children have their PE kit ready for lessons as children who do not have kit in school will lose prefect jobs.
Spelling: Children will be set spellings on a Friday to be tested the following Friday
English and Maths: Year 5 Homework will be set on a Friday and is due in on Wednesday.
Year 6 are set SATs revision this will be set on a Wednesday and is due in on the following Wednesday.
Reading: We will listen to children read at least once a week. Reading books must be brought into school every day and will be checked regularly. Please listen to your child read at home and make comments in their home/school diary. To see how reading is taught at St. Paul's click here to see the reading section of our website.
