Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Coronavirus update – school closure to most pupils

As stated in our previous message/email: following the government national announcement yesterday, school is closing from 3.15pm on Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice.

We will continue to keep in touch with you via the school spider app, email and website.

Unfortunately, we are still awaiting clarification from the government in regards to what was meant by keyworkers, and school being kept open for the children of keyworkers. When we receive this, we will send this out to you. If you are eligible for places priority has to be given to families where both parents are keyworkers unless it is a single parent family. As well as these pupils, places will also be available for those children who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) or who have a social worker supporting their family.

If they fit any of the categories mentioned above and you wish for your child to attend school, from Monday 23rd March please confirm via email that you are requesting for your child to attend. Once the keyworkers criteria has been issued by the government, we will then reply to confirm whether a place is being given.

We need these emails to arrive by 12.30pm on Friday 20th March to give us time to respond (apologies for the short time frames)!

Please send emails to [email protected]

If your children are still in a period of a 14-day household self-isolation, then they will not be able to attend until this finishes.

All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into school from Monday onwards.

If your children meet the criteria but you feel it is safest that they stay at home in the care of an adult, we fully understand that decision at this difficult time.

School will open from 9am to 3.00pm. Entrance and exit will be from front of school. If your child normally brings a packed lunch, we ask that they do so as usual, unless you book a meal through the online ordering system. The meals available at school will all be ‘grab bags’ (packed lunches). We ask that children bring their own labelled bottle of water on each day they are attending school. The children do not need to wear school uniform.
