St Paul's Reading Spine
“Imagine a school where children enjoy, discuss and work with a core books, both fiction and poetry. These ‘essential reads’ would be a store of classics, creating a living library inside a child’s mind. This is the Reading Spine. As a school we want to build a common bank of stories that bind the community together. These are shared and deeply imagined common experiences.”
At St. Paul’s we love reading so much that we have a daily story time in every class, every day. We have worked as a whole school to create a reading spine for every year group. It is these books that we read during our class story time.
