Updates and Opening in September

Dear Parent/Carer,

This has truly been the most unprecedented of times that we have been living through. We all long for the day when we are back to a normal way of being. We are working through the latest government guidance for schools for full opening in September. To be clear we are working towards full opening on Wednesday 2nd September. There will undoubtedly be changes to get use to such as, staggered start and finish times to prevent crowding on the playground. We will send further updates in regards to this through the school email system and we will put copies of documents in the Covid-19 updates section of the school website. Please read through these carefully for any systems that maybe new to you. Any adaptations that we are making will be designed to reduce risks and we ask that all support each other in this.

We have posted letters to home (they should arrive in the next few days), in them you will find:

  • A copy of your child’s report, this will reflect their time in school up until March 20th 2020.
  • Also (for those with children currently in years’ reception to year 5) there will be details of your child’s new teacher for September. You will also find a letter from your child’s new class teacher for you to share with your child and family. If you use your camera on your phone or a QR reader (on the QR code) on the ‘Meet the Teacher sheet’ it will link you to a short video from your child’s new teacher.
  • There is also a ‘Meet Me’ form for you to complete with your child, which is to be all about them. Please bring this back completed on your first day back in September.
  • For our Year 6 families only, you will find a copy of the information sheet with your child’s report that was sent via email on the 23rd June about the Year 6 Leavers’ Picnic. Below is a link to a survey monkey that we need year 6 parents only to complete regarding this event, I would appreciate if you can do this by Thursday 16th July.

We will be saying farewell to Mrs Kime this summer, as she starts her well-earned retirement. I would like to extend my thanks from all of us, for all she has done for the whole school community at St Paul’s. She will be greatly missed but hopefully she will visit us next year to spend some time with us.

We will also be saying farewell to our wonderful Year 6 children. All of us at St Paul’s would like to thank them for being so fantastic over the years. We are so proud of all of you and know that your lights will continue to shine brightly at secondary school.

I would like to extend my thanks and the thanks of the whole staff team for all your kind words, patience, understanding and support during this time. As a school we know that things are not going to be quite the same for some time, but we will adapt and I will keep you updated with plans for September.

Yours Sincerely

Mr S Wright
