Reception - RNLI visit July 2025
Lesson: EYFS
Class: Reception Year: 2024 - 2025
Today we had the pleasure of listening to Mike from the RNLI. He came to speak about water safety and the amazing work that the RNLI do in saving lives at sea.
We were amazing at answering the questions and spotting the dangers around water.
We learnt about the flags at the beach and what they mean.
We all showed Mike how we can do 'Float to Live' which is a star float, keeping our heads above the water. We practised on the floor and Mike was very impressed.
We finaly got to try on some life saving boyancy aids and some lifeguard and Lifeboat crew costumes.
Leo and Klay showed Mike their model that they had made of the Severn Class lifeboat! Before Mike had arrived we learnt about the different boats that the RNLI use, from small inflatable boats for shallow water to the big boats for open ocean rescues.
Thanks Mike for a wonderful afternoon!
